The Shops at West End is a mixed-use development. PAI designed four buildings for the development.

retail1 Building 21, 212,700 sq ft, has a one level below grade parking with three buildings above. The below grade parking is a precast system to support the one story and 2 story buildings above. There are two entrances and exits for the parking structure as well as two loading dock areas. Building 23, 6,700sf Arcade building, above the parking structure (building 21) extends to the full width of the structure. Building 21 consists of slab on grade at the ground level and precast double tees at the first level to support the buildings above. The walls consist of solid precast panels supported by concrete spread footings and pads. Light gage framing was also used for the general framing. Structural steel was used to frame the Arcade building (building 23). The roof was constructed with steel bar joist and steel deck.

Building 31, 70,000 sf theatre, is a two story precast structure with interior steel framed mezzanine levels by tenant. Four story tall atrium at main entrance. Connections to new five tier parking structure with grade level parking below building. Building 31 consists of steel bar joists, girders, precast double tees and slab on grade at first floor, insulated precast panels, spread footings and mats, light gage, and structural steel entrance facade.

Building 34 is a four supported level parking ramp attached to the theatre. The parking ramp consists of approximately 1,140-stalls. A 74’ long pedestrian bridge, at the 3rd level, and a 36’ long vehicle bridge, at the 5th level, constructed to connect to the existing ramp on the East side. The ramp is roughly 66,000 s.f.and 125’x524’ in size.Building 34 consists of four levels of precast double tees and slab on grade at the first floor. The walls were solid precast panels and spandrels. Foundation consisted of concrete spread footings and pads.

Construction Cost – $140 Million for entire complex

Construction Period – 2008-2009
