The Treasure Island Resort & Casino Expansion project was a design-build fast track project completed with Knutson Construction as the General Contractor. Construction drawings were prepared as building materials were ordered.
The casino and hotel expansion project includes a new six story hotel with 230 additional hotel rooms in two wings, a 30,000 sf event center for entertainment with a 3,000 seat showroom, a family fun center featuring 24 bowling lanes, arcade, lounge, snack bar and separate party rooms.
The focal feature of the hotel is the impressive illuminated sky bridge, which connects the hotel wings together.
Nine years earlier, PAI engineered the original hotel, gaming floor, office and storage areas.
PAI prepared structural calculations and construction plans. Also, PAI reviewed and edited specifications, provided shop drawing review and performed field engineering inspections during construction.
Construction consisted of conventional concrete spread footing foundations, post-tensioned concrete floors, slab-on-grade with steel beams and columns.
Construction Cost – $ 50 million
Construction period – June 2007 thru
August 2008
