– Minneapolis, MN –

Abbott 5Abbott Apartments consists of the historic rehabilitation of the Abbott Hospital complex into 123 units bringing a much needed affordable market-rate rental housing to the south side of downtown Minneapolis.

Careful planning has gone into the renovation by utilizing the visual history of the structure. The original Abbott Hospital was constructed in 1910. Subsequent additions bear the names of noted Philanthropists that served the neighborhood until 1957. The complex served as assisted living facilities known as the City of Lakes Transitional Care Center and the Ebenezer Caroline Center until 2004. The historic character of the complex will be closely matched to the original design. Major upgrades in the outdated mechanical and electrical systems will be combined with energy efficiency and modern features that reflect the “something extra” that the conscientious consumer expects.
