Palanisami & Associates performed the pre-cast concrete design engineering and CADD drafting services to design this new 900 seat ice arena. The structure includes two locker rooms, four team rooms, glass over
looking the ice and parking for 350 cars. The new one level pre-cast concrete ice arena facility incorporates a high level of energy management. The facility will transfer excess heat generated by the refrigeration system to melt the ice shaving in the snow melt pit and to heat the sub-soil beneath the ice sheet. The system also maximizes the energy recovery to provide heat for the arena itself, thereby keeping spectators warm while minimizing energy consumption. As such, the system conserves not only energy but also energy costs.
Palanisami & Associates prepared the structural engineering calculations and erection drawings including plans, elevations and sections with mark numbers. Pre-cast concrete component and hardware drawings were also done by PAI.
